Gear Metering Systems

Gear pumps are based on the Archimedes' principle and differ from any of the delivery and metering systems mentioned below by the fact that they do not require any control elements. This means that no automatic or controlled valves are required - neither for the delivery process itself nor for determining the delivery direction. The gear pumps used in mixing and metering systems are mainly based on two externally toothed gears of equal size (in case of very small types also internally toothed versions). The gears are located in a housing which features very little clearance between its walls and the gear.

    The systems of the compomix product range are compact and solvent free metering and mixing systems. They are used to handle low to medium viscosity multi component media such as polyurethane or epoxy for the production of fibre-reinforced plastics.

    Material pressure vessels are used to supply the material.

    The eldomix 100/600 range of systems are compact, solvent free, gear pump driven metering and mixing systems. They are used to apply low to medium viscosity multiple component materials such as epoxies, polyurethanes and silicones. The material is supplied from pressure vessels. Special configurations to process high viscosity media are also available.

    Pressure vessels are used to supply the material into the three phase asynchronous motor driven gear pumps where they are proportioned at the preselected ratio. Each gear pump is protected against over pressure as standard. Using optional integrated volume counters, the mixing ratio can be permanently controlled in freely configurable tolerances. In addition, the system can be equipped with a permanent air-fuel ratio control.

    The eldomix is fitted with a metering computer with touch screen terminal and a static mixing system that includes a 2K valve combined with a disposable static mixer. Should mixed material be allowed to cure in the mixer, it can be replaced simply and inexpensively, thus avoiding a time consuming, expensive and environmentally damaging flushing cycle.

    The ladomix is a compact mobile metering and mixing system, available with gear pumps or piston pumps. The ladomix G-SF includes a specific gear metering system; the ladomix P-SF a piston metering system. Both are used to handle solvent-free and self-leveling multiple component laminating adhesives within a mixing ratio of 100:100 to 100:10. For the handling of solvent-based adhesives DOPAG offers the ladomix V-SB, a metering and mixing system, that includes metering valves.

      Functions ladomix G-SF

    To supply the material, vessels with a volume of 60 litres are used, which are refilled automatically by the use of vacuum suction lances as standard or optional via refilling pumps. Analogous rod sensors control the material level permanently. The metering is done by three phase asynchronous motor driven gear pumps which are mounted inside the vessels below the material level. Each gear pump is protected against over pressure as standard. The ladomix G-SF is controlled by a metering computer with touch screen. The machine is equipped with a static mixing system that includes a 2K valve combined with a disposable static mixer. If mixed material cured in the mixer, it can be replaced easily and inexpensively, thus a time consuming, expensive and environmentally damagingflushing cycle is not required.
